Samuel Pepys set and board

The Pepys design is named after the 17th century English diarist Samuel Pepys, who was supposedly presented with such a style set by James II of England. However, James' inventory does not include such a set and board.

This particular set and board appear to date from the late 18th century. The pieces are carved in ivory, and the board has inlaid ivory floral patterns.
