| The Pepys design is named after the 17th century English diarist Samuel Pepys, who was presented with such a style set by James II of England. The original set and board were, until recently, on display in the Museum of London. This set and board date from the late 1700's. The pieces are carved in ivory, and the board has inlaid ivory floral patterns. | ||||
