Long before Bobby Fischer dominated the front pages, another American's chess exploits were front-and-center. This issue of the Daily Evening Bulletin, from November 12, 1859, highlights a 4-game blindfold exhibition by Morphy in Philadelphia, against leading members of the local chess club. An article recaps the evening, and the game scores are given. Morphy won all four games.
