Games Compendium by Goldsmiths' and Silversmiths' Company, London - late 19th century

Jon's main chess page

A top-of-the-line compendium with all original games and ivory chess pieces, backgammon pieces, dice, and many other games.

Goldsmiths' and Silversmiths' Company in London was a descendant of two other company lines: A. B. Savory & Sons, which became the Goldsmiths' and Silversmiths' Alliance, and William Gibson, whose company became the Manufacturing Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company. Those two companies were absorbed into the Goldsmiths' and Silversmiths' Company, which in turn was later bought out by Garrard's. Subsequently Asprey bought out Garrard's.
