Turned Horn 'Regence' Pattern Chess Set, mid 20th century,the kings and queens with urn-shaped bases, concentric knopped shafts and knopped finials. The king -- 4 1/8in. (10.5cm.) high; the pawn -- 1¾in. (4.5cm.) high.

This set was labeled in auction as a late 19th French-made set, but it's not. This type of set was produced in Vietnam and/or surrounding countries in the mid 20th century.
