A royal chess set made of Indian jade with silver applications, in original copper box and couchon for protection, from the former kingdom of Dholpur (SE Rajasthan) -- Inscription on the couchon and on the kings: Maharaja Bhagvat Singh SV 1877 = 1821 A. D; 8,5 cm. The royal family belongs to the Jat clan. The textile board is original to the set.
