Havana Ensemble from 1966 Chess Olympiad

Jon's main chess page

A near-mint set given by Fidel Castro to each competitor of the 1966 Havana Olympiad, but in this case, the ensemble includes a chess table with inlaid marble board and two chairs (used for Board One in the Olympiad) that Castro gave as a personal gift to one of the members of the Organizing Committee. The ensemble comes with a personal card from Castro, a photograph of Castro greeting the original owner of the ensemble, and also the grand wooden carved knight that was used to display the country flag of each competitor.

I will take photos of the chess table and chairs when they arrive.
