A Jaques club-size (4.4" Kings) ivory set from late 1849 or early 1850, as indicated by the Cooke/Morphy style Knights as well as the British registration lozenges, still on the bottom of several pieces. The set is accompanied by its original large-size Carton Pierre casket.
