Jaques Staunton set circa 1849

I was very fortunate to acquire this set, which still had a British marking on the bottom of one piece -- indicating a date of 1849, the first year of manufacture.  However, the registration labels from 1849 were used for several years. Other characteristics indicate a very early date, such as the White King's stamp and the ebonized black knightheads. This set has 3.5" Kings.
